BLOGMAS - Easy and Cheap Ways To Decorate Your Room!

i pretty much tend to be a cheap skate and that definitely comes out when i have to decorate for christmas, because what's the point of spending a lot when its only out for the christmas season? so i gravitate towards the shops that have cute decorations, but for amazingly cheap prices - target, walmart, dollar store, etc.

 a great way to spend absolutely NO money (well unless you don't have paper or scissors) is to make paper snowflakes and hang them around. i'm sure you learned how to do this in elementary school, and if not theres a million youtube videos! here, i have them hanging around my light fixture with a glitter snowflake that i bought at target for a $1.

heres another glitter snowflake that i found at the dollarstore! i just placed it on my bookshelf and i love the way it looks, it adds a glam, festive look to my shelf.

this i cannot stress enough - TINSEL! grab some garlands of tinsel that you can pick up for like 3 dollars the most, and it adds an instant christmas feel to the room. you can literally hang some anywhere!

another cheap way to join in on christmas decor is to have a mini tree! (yes, i technically have 2 trees in my room!) mini trees are not priced very high and you can find cheap ornaments anyway! and don't want to buy a garland? string some popcorn!

as you can see, my mannequin has went all out! lights! lights! lights! these make a room look so pretty and pretty much all your need to make your room christmas-y. and a santa hat! you can buy these anywhere and put them anywhere - on a bed post, closet, lamp!

these are just some ways i decorated my room and on a low budget, hope you guys get some ideas and its not too late into the season! i decorated my room pretty much before i started blogmas, but i'm pretty lazy and haven't gotten around to showing you guys yet!

BLOGMAS - Candy Cane Cookies!

this is my attempt at candy cane cookies! all i did was make some cookie dough, split it in half and dye one half red with food dye. then roll some little "logs" of dough and twist a red and white one together. as you can see mine are really fat, so make sure your "logs" are thin, or they will look like mine :) but they taste delicious! let me know if you try these out or have made them before, i love this idea!

yess, i know i'm such a slacker! i've never been so busy in my life, junior year is really getting to me! but i did manage to have time to night to create yes, another, christmas manicure! i attempted to try my cheetah nail art again (leopard nails) but it kinda just looks like awkward polka dots. but i'll take it :)

BLOGMAS - It's Christmas When...

so the weather here lately has caused me to feel like its still fall, and i keep forgetting to be in the christmas spirit! its been in the low 60's, high 50's and raining! this isn't the usual december weather (global warming? lol) for us and i haven't felt like christmas is coming yet! so i decided to take note on the things that make me feel festive to put me in the holiday mood!

1. driving around town and seeing all the lights lit up

2. getting to stare at my christmas tree & decorations

3. wearing my christmas pjs and fuzzy socks

4. starting my homework before 8 so i can watch christmas movies at night

5. my non-stop playing of christmas music (it's a disease)

there's obviously so much more things to bring up the christmas mood but these are the things i took note of during my day filled with gross weather. fingers crossed it gets cold soon! :)

BLOGMAS - My Christmas Tree!

 

 TADA! this is my colorful christmas tree that i have in my bedroom. i had this up the day after thanksgiving, but it being a broken five dollar tree, it fell over due to its unsteady base. but i 

fixed and repositioned it today, plus tied it to my bookshelf so i think i'm good!

all these ornaments were bought at target and a.c. moore and the tree was bought at the target sale section after christmas one year. and of course the garland made by me :) ahhh, i love how it turned out! i'm fully in the festive mood now! i can stare at my tree all the time, we put the lights outside today and are almost done decorating. i'm so excited for december! hope you had a wonderful weekend :)

FIRST DAY OF BLOGMAS!

**so this is uploading on december second because it never worked yesterday, i have no idea why! but don't you worry your pretty little heads, i will be double posting today! keep on the lookout later for the second day!

i know i have been a TERRIBLE blogger in the past month (even longer?) and i thought i'd make it up to you guys by taking part in blogmas! plus, christmas is my absolute, most favorite time of the year and i would love to post about it for 25 days. i can't guarantee that everything will all about christmas, but definitely the majority! and for those of you who don't know what blogmas is, its the 25 days before christmas and you blog everyday

so i'm gonna kick this off with a little bit of christmas inspiration:

Leopard Nails!

so due to my obsession with leopard (or cheetah can't tell the difference) i decided to put it on my nails. it was much easier than i thought, especially since i cannot do nail art for my life. i'm in LOVE with the way it turned out!

1. apply the base color (sally hansen xtreme wear in wet cement)

2. apply dots throughout the nail where you can then outline, so leave room! (essie in lady like)

3. take the end of a bobby pin and paint C shapes around some and then brackets around others

4. add dots to fill in the empty spaces

if you don't understand these instructions (which i'm sure you don't! haha) theres millions of tutorials on youtube, and remember practice makes perfect! practice on a piece of paper first, it helped me a lot!

SO SORRY!

i'm so sorry guys, i have been MIA! the past few weeks have been so stressful, i have absolutely no time. i barely have time to sleep anymore! my life has just been crazy so i had to neglect the blog but things should be dying down now! i don't even have a post for you guys, just this apology so sorry about that :/ but thanks for sticking with me guys and for 72 followers! it means so much <3 hopefully i'll get back in the swing of things very, very, very soon!

NOTD - Glitter Tips

i'm in love with nail art, i just have absolutely no talent to portray beautiful designs on my nails SO i decided to create this easy look that anybody can do! (hey, if i can do it anyone can!) its not super cute, but its still nice to look at :)

step 1: apply your base color, i chose OPI's russian navy. 

step 2: dab on a fine glitter nail polish to the tips. the dabbing look makes it okay to not have a straight line compared to a french (which i can't do for the life of me) which makes it easy for everyone!

step 3: add a chunky glitter on top! 

and VOILA! you're done! its nail art made as simple as you can get

Favorite Pink Products!

in order of breast cancer awareness month i thought i would do a post dedicated to the cause by showing my favorite pink products! so here are my top four:

1. essie polish in lady like - its the perfect color EVER! (NOTD post here)

2. VS pink body splash in sweet & flirty - i'm in love with this smell! i usually only gravitate towards vanilla scents but i went crazy and bought this scent and i'm in love!

3. coastal scents pink kabuki brush - coastal scents is a great company and i'm in love with this kabuki. i use it everyday!

4. maybelline one by one mascara - my holy grail mascara! it makes my lashes look amazing

50 Followers?!?! and a Survey!

NOTD - Perfect Fall Color!

i've recently picked up essie's lady like and i'm OBSESSED. i absolutely adore it! forget my top 10 fall nail polish post (view that here), this is my new #1 fall color. it is light dusty, mauve-y, rose that can sometimes look like a nude. i'm in love, its official ;) ignore the chips, i've been wearing it for two days! essie usually holds up really well for me. i highly, highly, highly recommend you pick this color up for fall!

October Wants

so i plan on picking 5 new things i want each month, i think it's just more spaced out and less annoying as when people post one every week. i just want to be able to share what i'm going to be lusting about through each month :)

2. royal blue jeans-my closet would be complete with a pair of these...lol jk my closet will never be complete ;)

3. fur vest-i need one so badly! they're so adorable and versatile

4. leopard sperry topsiders-i've been wanting these for months, i think you can make them work all year round!

5. china glaze skyscraper-this polish needs to be in my collection right now, it's gorg!

and i didn't even try to make a color scheme...guess you can tell i love my neutrals and blues!
